• Direct flight service from Brunei’s capital to Chennai, agreements also for cooperation in defense and space sector :-MoU: PM Modi and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei held a bilateral meeting on Wednesday. During the meeting, many important issues related to bilateral relations were discussed. Both the leaders also welcomed the start of direct flight service between Bandar Seri Begawan and Chennai.

Direct flight service will start between Brunei’s capital Bandar Seri Begawan and Chennai, India. This announcement was made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Brunei. Apart from the direct flight service, both the countries have also agreed to increase mutual cooperation in the field of defense, space and people-to-people relations.

The agreements signed between the two countries during PM Modi’s visit are expected to further strengthen bilateral relations in the future. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that India and Brunei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the operation of telemetry, tracking and telecommand stations for satellites and launching vehicles.

• Paralympics 2024: Sachin Khiladi won silver in men’s shot put event, India’s medal tally reached 21 :- Canada’s Greg Stewart won the gold medal with a best throw of 16.38m. India’s Mohammad Yaser finished eighth and Rohit Kumar ninth in this event.

India opened its medal account in the men’s F46 shot put event on Wednesday. Sachin Sarjerao player won the silver medal with a best throw of 16.32 meters. Sachin missed the gold medal by just 0.06 meters. Sachin threw 16.32 meters in his second attempt. However, he could not go above this. Canada’s Greg Stewart won the gold medal with a best throw of 16.38 meters. India’s Mohammad Yasser finished eighth and Rohit Kumar ninth in this event. I

n the shot put final, Sachin’s first attempt was 14.72 meters, second attempt 16.32 meters, third attempt 16.15 meters, fourth attempt 16.31 meters, fifth attempt 16.03 meters and sixth (last) attempt 15.95 meters. He also set an area record with a throw of 16.32 meters. This was India’s 21st medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Sachin won the gold medal in the men’s shot put F46 event at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships. He won the medal with a best throw of 16.21 meters. He also participated in the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships, in which he won the gold medal in the same event.

• Himachal: TCP Act will not be applicable for building houses on 1.25 bigha land in rural areas, CM gave information:- In Himachal, except the planning area, the TCP Act will not be applicable on building houses up to 1.25 bighas of land in rural areas. People will be able to construct buildings up to 1,000 square meters without permission. Earlier it was 2,500 square meters. Rules and laws will be kept in mind during building construction. Suggestions will also be taken from the MLAs regarding this. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu gave this information in response to the discussion on the State Town and Village Planning Amendment Bill-2024. The members of the Legislative Assembly recommended sending this bill to the Select Committee. On this, the Chief Minister said that this is not a new bill. The bill is old. There are some amendments in it. In such a situation, it cannot be sent to the committee.

• Himachal: List of 27 teachers released for state level award:-27 teachers of Himachal Pradesh will be given state level teacher awards. The list of names of the teachers to be honored in the ceremony to be held on 5th September at Raj Bhawan Shimla was released on Tuesday late evening. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will honor the selected teachers by giving them awards. 13 teachers have been selected from general areas of the state and 5 teachers from remote and tribal areas.
